Avicenna Tajik State Medical University is Tajikistan’s most prestigious and largest medical university. Being a public university for medical sciences, this university was founded in the year 1939. It was established as Abu Ali Ibn Sino University.
Outside of Tajikistan, this university is still known by its previous name. It is a top university that offers a variety of medical fields like surgery, gynecology, general medicine, etc. At the end of 1988, there were more than 50 doctors employed by the institute, 300 or more medical students, and about 65 or more faculties for various courses.
By the year 2009, the students at Avicenna Tajik State Medical University would get access to 6-year programs in specialized medicine. However, the University has reduced this time by one year and now offers a 5-year full-time MBBS program to international students. It assigns courses in the medical, clinical, and specialized fields.
The renowned and well-known Tajik State Medical University is a government institution. It is situated in Tajikistan’s Dushanbe. ATSMU is celebrating 81 years of excellent service. The Ministry of Health is in charge of its administration. Moreover, the PM&DC has accredited it as a medical university and the WHO, ECFMG, WFME has recognized it.
